Freshman Aaron Craft leads all league freshmen in steals (51) and assists (122) while leading the Buckeyes in both categories as well. Craft also set the Ohio State freshman record for steals in a game with seven vs. Iowa Jan. 19. That effort also was the second most steals in a game in Ohio State history., tied with the seven thefts Kelvin Ransey recorded vs. Minnesota Feb 23, 1978. At Purdue Sunday, Craft was credited with six steals, which ties for the fourth-most steals in a game at Ohio State. With 51 steals on the season, Craft has the third most in a season by an Ohio State Freshman. Mike Conley owns the record with 87 in 2007. Michael Redd had 61 in 1998.

Senior Jon Diebler became the Big Ten's all-time leader in made 3-pointers with a pair of triples at Purdue Feb 20. The sharpshooter from Upper Sandusky, Ohio, has made 333 career 3s. He has averaged 2.5 made 3s a game for his 134-game career. Ohio State has a minimum of five games remaining, four in the regular-season and at least one in the Big Ten tournament. He is on pace to make 13 more 3s this season, or 346 for his career. Pete Lisicky of Penn State (1994-98) owned the top spot in conference history with 332 made 3-pointers.

There have been 28 Buckeyes all-time to score more than 500 points in a season with Jerry Lucas and Michael Redd leading the pack each with three 500-plus point seasons. Paul Ebert was the first to do so when he tallied 516 points during the 1953-54 season. Freshman Jared Sullinger is 13 points away from adding his name to the list (487/2010-11). Kosta Koufos is the last Ohio State freshman to reach 500 points in a rookie season. He tallied 534 as a freshman in 2008-09. Evan Turner (632/2009-10) and William Buford (532/209-10) each scored more than 500 points last season. Only Michael Redd (658/1998-99), Sullinger, Koufos and Greg Oden (501/2006-07) reached the 500-point mark as Ohio State freshmen.

Since Thad Matta took over the Buckeye program in 2–4-05, Ohio State is 116-10 in Columbus, the most home wins among Big Ten schools. Over the last two seasons Ohio State is 34-1 in Columbus.

Jody Victor®: No. 2 Buckeyes Set for Showdown with Spartans

Jody Victor: Tonight's basketball game pits No. 2 Ohio State (24-1, 11-1) against Michigan State (14-10, 6-6) at home in Value City Arena. Game time is 9 pm ET and it will be televised on ESPN. In the meantime, here's some news from osu.edu.

Since Thad Matta took over the Buckeye program in 2004-05, Ohio State is 115-10 in Columbus, the most home wins among Big Ten schools. Over the last two seasons Ohio State is 33-1 in Columbus.

The Buckeyes are 15-0 at home this season in Value City Arena (1-0 at St. John Arena). In games at VCA, Ohio State is shooting 49 percent from the field (441-894). The Buckeyes are outscoring opponents by 25 ppg. and have a rebounding advantage of 7.9 rpg. No opponent has scored more than 66 points at Value City Arena this season. Ohio State finished 17-1 at home last season, the second most home victories in a season at Ohio State. The team reached 100 or more points three times and averaged a margin of victory of +22.1. The Buckeyes opened the 2010-11 campaign with a 102-61 victory over NC A&T and recently defeated UT-Martin 100-40. Ohio State is 69-1 all-time when scoring 100 or more points in a game.

Michigan State leads the all-time series with the Buckeyes 58-50 with Ohio State leading 36-16 in Columbus. Ohio State has won the last two meetings with the Spartans. As a ranked team, Ohio State is 18-8 in games vs. Michigan State, including wins in the last four meetings as a ranked team. Junior William Buford is Ohio State's top scorer in the Michigan State series with 14.8 points per game over his four career games vs. the Spartans. He also is Ohio State's top rebounder with an average of 5.3 rebounds a game.

Jody Victor®: Lighty, Sullinger Lead No. 1 Ohio State to Win

David Lighty scored 19 points and Jared Sullinger had 18 points and 13 rebounds to help top-ranked Ohio State remain unbeaten with an 82-69 victory over No. 18 Minnesota on Sunday and last week over Michigan.

Every starter for the Buckeyes (24-0, 11-0 Big Ten) scored 10 or more points as they stretched the second-longest winning streak in school history. William Buford added 15 points, four assists, four rebounds and two steals, and Ohio State marched forward in this challenging month on the schedule.

This week marks Sullinger's 11th Freshman of the Week award and the 13th for the Buckeyes. Rookies Deshaun Thomas and Aaron Craft each have claimed one FOW for the Buckeyes. Sullinger scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against the Wolverines and added 18 points and 13 boards against the Golden Gophers. He connected on 50 percent of his shots from the floor (15-of-30) and contributed five assists and three steals in just over 37 minutes a game.

Up next is a trip to No. 19 Wisconsin on Saturday at 2 p.m. – televised on ESPN.

Jody Victor®: Sullinger Earns 10th Freshman of the Week Award

Ohio State remained unbeaten (22-0, 9-0) with a pair of wins last week vs. No. 12 Purdue at home and at Northwestern.

Jared Sullinger was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the 10th time for his efforts in the two wins, the league office announced Monday.

He led the way with 19 points and 7.5 rebounds a game in the wins. Sullinger scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds in Ohio State's 87-64 victory over the Boilermakers. He then scored 21 points with eight rebounds vs. the Wildcats.

His free throw with 3.5 seconds to play secured Ohio State's win in Evanston, 58-57. For the week, Sullinger connected on 58 percent of his FGs (14-24), recorded three assists and three steals while playing 65 total minutes without a turnover.

Ohio State has earned all 12 Big Ten FOW honors this season with Deshaun Thomas and Aaron Craft each earning one award. Sullinger also has four conference player of the week accolades.

Ohio State is home this Thursday (7 p.m.) vs. Michigan and at Minnesota Sunday (2 p.m.). Both games will be televised by ESPN.
