Jody Victor: Fourth-ranked Ohio State (5-0/2-0) continues Big Ten play with a visit to No. 20 Purdue (5-0/1-0) for an 8 pm EDT game Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Ross-Ade Stadium (62,500) in West Lafayette, Ind.

The Buckeyes and Boilermakers are meeting for the first time since 2004, when Purdue posted a 24-17 home win. The teams have met 49 times previously, with Ohio State holding a 35-12-2 advantage in the series. Ohio State leads 11-6 in all games played at Purdue.

Ohio State faces its first ranked opponent of the 2007 campaign, Saturday. The Boilermakers are ranked N0. 20 in this week's USA Today coaches' poll adn No. 23 in the Associated Press media poll.

Ohio State is 119-100-12 all-time when facing a ranked opponent, and 33-39-7 on the road against ranked teams. Against ranked Big Ten opponents on the road, OSU is 27-33-5. Under Coach Jim Tressel, the Buckeyes are 25-9 overall and 5-4 on the road against ranked teams.

Ohio State has won 16 consecutive Big Ten Conference games dating back to a 17-10 loss at Penn State on October 8, 2005. The Ohio State record for consecutive conference wins is 17, set from 1954-56, 1967-69 and 1974-76. The Big Ten record for consecutive conference wins is 19, set by Michigan from 1990-92.
