Jody Victor: Ohio State (4-0/1-0) continues Big Ten play with a visit to Minnesota (1-3/0-1) for an 8 pm EDT game Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome (64,172) in Minneapolis.
Coupled with a night game at Purdue next week, the Buckeyes are playing back-to-back road night games for the first time in program history. This season also marks the first time Ohio State will play three regular-season night games.
The Buckeyes and Gophers are playing for the 47th time; Ohio State has a 39-7 advantage in the series, with a 19-4 mark in Minneapolis. The Buckeyes have won the last four games in the series, including a 44-0 OSU victory last season in Columbus.
Ohio State has won 22 consecutive regular-season games, dating back to a 17-10 loss at Penn State on October 8, 2005; that breaks the Buckeye record for consecutive regular-saeson wins, set from 1967-69.
The Northwestern game was the 500th home game all-time for the Buckeyes in Ohio Stadium. The Buckeyes boast an all-time record of 376-104-20 (.772) in Ohio Stadium since that facility opened in 1922. The first game was a 5-0 win over Ohio Wesleyan on October 7, 1922.
This Saturday's game will be televised by ESPN 2 at 8:00 pm EDT.
