COLUMBUS, Ohio ? The Ohio State baseball team begins concludes its eight-game homestand with a Wednesday doubleheader against Northern Kentucky. The first game is slated for 3:05 p.m. with the nightcap set to begin approximately 30 minutes after the first.
OHIO STATE OF LATE
Ohio State earned its second sweep in Big Ten play, topping Penn State in three games over the weekend at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. The Buckeyes won the opener, 3-1, Friday night before taking both games of a doubleheader Saturday by scores of 10-8 and 8-3.
Ryan Cypret went 5-for-9 with a double, a home run, four RBI, three runs scored and three walks on the weekend while Mike Carroll went 4-for-5 with a double and a run scored. The Buckeye pitching staff posted a 3.33 ERA over the weekend against the Nittany Lions.
SCOUTING NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Northern Kentucky enters the week with an 8-35 record, 3-15 in A-Sun play. Brad Clement leads the Norse with a .311 average to go along with seven doubles, a home run, 20 RBI and 16 runs scored.
The Buckeyes and Norse have never previously met on the diamond.
