Ohio State Hosts West Virginia and Marshall in a Pair of Midweek Games

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? The Ohio State baseball team hosts West Virginia Tuesday and Marshall Wednesday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Both games are set for 6:35 p.m.

OHIO STATE OF LATE
Ohio State dropped two of three contests over the weekend at Minnesota. The Buckeyes fell, 3-0, in the opener before picking up a 5-2 win in the middle game and falling, 1-0, in the finale.

Brad Goldberg picked up the win in the middle game to move to 5-0 on the season while King allowed one earned run on three hits over 7.0 innings pitched in a tough-luck loss in the finale.

SCOUTING WEST VIRGINIA
West Virginia is 17-15 on the season after dropping a series over the weekend at Baylor. Ryan Tuntland leads the Mountaineers with a .379 average with six doubles, two home runs, 20 runs scored and 18 RBI.

Ohio State holds a 14-9 lead in the all-time series but the schools have not played since 1999.

SCOUTING MARSHALL|
Marshall enters the week with a 13-18 overall record after winning a series over the weekend to No. 19 Houston. Andrew Dundon leads the Herd with a .351 batting average to go along with 14 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Ohio State holds a 16-2 advantage over in the all-time series.

BUCKEYES IN THE BIG TEN
Entering the week, Ohio State is tied for fifth in the Big Ten with a 5-4 record in conference play, 19-10 overall. The Buckeyes rank among the top offensive teams in the Big Ten including runs scored (153, 4th), stolen bases (46, 3rd), triples (10, t-2nd) and home runs (8, 4th). On the mound, Ohio State ranks in ERA (2.51, 2nd), saves (12, 1st), walks allowed (68, 1st), opposing batting average (.220, 1st) and strikeouts (196, 3rd). The Buckeyes are second in the conference with a .976 fielding percentage.
