COLUMBUS, Ohio ? The Ohio State baseball team welcomes Georgia Tech to Columbus for a pair of midweek games Tuesday and Wednesday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. First pitch Tuesday is set for 7:05 p.m. with Wednesday at 6:35 p.m.
OHIO STATE OF LATE
The Buckeyes took two of three games over the weekend against Northwestern in Evanston, Ill. Ohio State dropped the opener, 8-0, Saturday before winning the middle game, 5-3, Sunday and earning a 6-2 win in the finale Monday.
Jaron Long tossed 7.0 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while tying his career high with eight strikeouts to earn the win in the rubber game while Jacob Bosiokovic went 5-for-11 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in the series. Kirby Pellant went 4-for-12 in the series with four RBI, a run scored and the go-ahead three-run home run in the eighth inning of Monday?s win.
SCOUTING GEORGIA TECH
Georgia Tech enters the week with a 29-18 record, 12-12 in ACC play. Brandon Thomas leads the Yellow Jackets with a .379 average to go along with 13 doubles, a triple, a home run, 38 runs scored and 22 RBI.
Ohio State trails the all-time series with the Yellow Jackets, 14-6-1, after Georgia Tech took two of three games last February in Atlanta.
